It is the best time of the year, KIDDING SEASON! Annie kicked it off by having two ten pound babies! One boy, one girl. My dad was having his motor put in his boat that day and I told him “I bet she waits until we are all busy with that.” Sure enough, that is what happened. So we named them “Flounder” and “Fish Sticks”.
Not to be outdone, Butterscotch kidded two days later. It was a very rough kidding. The first buckling was stuck in the birth canal and I had to pull as hard as I could to get him out. I thought I was going to lose her. I “bumped” her stomach and I knew she had one more. She couldn’t get this out either. I went in and realized the baby was coming out spine first and backwards. I found the baby’s two back legs and got her out. It was a doeling! We named them “Flower” and “Fathead”.
I lost all of Butterscotch’s girls in the fire last year so this was very exciting. We have 3 more mommas to kid this month. Then we have a short break until the last 7 mommas kid next month
