If you’re not from Rhode Island, you might not be familiar with the Scituate Art Festival – Scituate, RI’s “claim to fame!” It’s a favorite event of locals and non-locals alike. A little history...
The Scituate Art Festival, now in its 51st year, is held over the Columbus Day weekend – this year, Saturday, October 7th through Monday, October 9th. Nestled in our cozy, rural small town of Scituate, the Art Festival boasts unique varieties of crafts, fine art, sculpture, consumer goods, delicious food vendors, antiques, gifts, and of course, everyone’s favorite goat milk soap, all nestled beneath peak fall foliage beauty. Plus, parking and entry are completely free!
In 1967, the Art Festival was established as a fundraiser to restore the 1830’s era Congregational Church that still stands in our town’s center today. Starting with only twelve vendors, the much-anticipated festival has now grown to feature over two hundred vendors from across North America. The 3-day event still supports the maintenance of the Church building, as well as various local non-profits. (For more information on the Art Festival, visit their official website.)
We “Scituate-ites” believe that Art Festival Weekend is the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season. After all, where else can you find your favorite local vendors all in one place, offering some of their best deals of the year?
You can find us at TWO locations this year – in front of the Country Mutt and beside the Old Congregational Church (across from the elementary school). Plus, score this Art Festival-exclusive shirt FREE with a purchase of $75 or more! Can’t make it to the Art Fest? Don’t sweat it - online orders over $50 ship free!
